After the Sespe trek, Elliott and I splurged on a $40 ($40?!) camp site in Santa Barbara so we could tool around SB wine country for a day. Our first stop was in Solvang - of Sideways fame. It's a little Danish village smack dab in California.
Post-trip, I found out it was one of my Danish great-grandmother's favorite places in the U.S. I can certainly see why, but I'm not sure she'd approve of my rapid inhalation of junk food.
Who's joining me for the real thing in Copenhagen?
ME!
ReplyDeleteSolvang is HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!! I had no idea that a weird little faux European town existed so close to LA. I felt like I was in bizarro world when i happened upon it!
